An Orchid, a Tulip and a Cobblestone

When Mum was here she bought me this gorgeous Orchid, I have hankered after an orchid for years but never felt brave enough to actually purchase one....I know Mum, water it on a Sunday with cooled boiled water and after 20 minutes tip out the excess water!
the slideshow is of some of the many photos Mum took whilst she was here with us last week.

*~*~*

Barry was just nipping into town and decided that his new jumper was dry enough to wear!
I really wanted to block this delicious jumper before he wore it but he had other ideas....
I am in love with the yarn, the pattern and of course......the man wearing it!
and it turned into a soft, squishy, fluffy jumper after a soak in some no-rinse fabric wash. You were right Marianne, this yarn is definitely going to be a favourite of mine!

The delightful fun knit, Tulip, is finished......
The colours are so cheerful...
Just right for a six year old...but I still have two to make.....what a chore! (not!)

*~*~*
Have a happy week :^)

I am so glad you had such a nice time with your mom. I LOVE orchids and can actually make them grow even though I kill everything else. GOrgeous flower you have there.

And your knitting is so wonderful! I am so jealous...I have no time to be knitting right now. Lovely work.

Great photos!

Barry looks great in his sweater. I still have never knit with the Peace Fleece and it's right here in my own state - shocking, I know!

Barry does look as though he really loves that sweater, and it looks great on him. I love the color of it too. The Tulip cardigan looks so bright and beautiful too, do we get to see it properly modelled.

You sound lovely, bright and cheerful :)

Everything is beautiful! Once I get over my fear of making a jumper for Jez I think I'll be making him a Cobblestone too. Barry looks great and very proud in his xxx

The cobblestone is gorgeous, if only I had a man to wear it for me, yes I have a man but not one interested in handknits! Love that peacefleece, and tulip is gorgeous, are you going to swap the colours around for the others?

Orchids are beautiful. A good place for orchids would be in a bathroom because it stays moist there. That is where Hubby has ours and they love it, they are always blooming. He sits them in the shower and runs water on them from the shower, like rain.

Oh, Barry looks fantastic in his Cobblestone - he's very lucky to have you [and I'm sure he knows it!] ;)
