Some socks, a thong and some knitting....

Can anyone guess what this is I'm making? I'm sure there's a few of you knitters out there that have had a go at this conundrum! I am using some Rowan wool/cotton that I got in a bargain bucket in that shop in Devon, it is a joy to knit with and has a springy drape about it.
This Thong was made just as a bit of fun really and the most amazing thing is that my daughter Ali was knitting this same pattern at the same time I was and we hadn't even conversed on the subject! I made them out of some Rowan Cotton Glace but I guess pure silk would have been better. I think these would just look good as a bedroom decoration really, I don't think I would want to wear them! This is destined as a gift .....
I finished these socks on the way back from Devon on Tuesday, I am very proud of them. The stitches are so tiny, especially now I have washed them and the yarn has filled out. I used three strands of summer socks yarn that I got from Hong Kong, in the online description it says 80%wool and 20%acrylic, but I think the yarn is cotton, it didn't behave at all like wool does when it is wet. These sock are destined for someone special, I'll tell you who when I have given them to her.

The thong is actually quite lovely (I'm with you, my thong days are gone gone gone).
Those pink socks are beautiful, what pattern? It looks familiar to me.
