Barry has worn a hole in these socks! I am so excited...I have always wanted to darn some socks! True love eh? I won't make him socks out of such soft yarn again, itchy socks for him from now on!
LOL at you wanting to darn!! Mind you, I think darns can look really nice. I have inherited my mum's darning mushroom but have never actually tried to darn!!
I've had to darn the first pair I made for Bobby, (his toenails should be registered with lethal weapons department!) and although it doesn't look all that great...he wears them (it was all on the sole side).
Now that's a new perspective; wanting to learn to darn? I had to darn one of Andy's first pair a couple weeks ago - it was a lump attempt, but solid, and I presented the newly mended pair with much pride. He put the darned sock on, admired my new skill, pulled the second (unmended) sock on -- and the heel split wide open. They're still sitting on my desk waiting for the second darning...
I do need a mushroom...Barry told me he was going to buy one for me from the supermarket to make me laugh but I think this nasty cold would have made me make him eat it! Good job he didn't bother..
I have been arty crafty for as long as I can remember but since discovering knitting blogs and ravelry I have become obsessed! My passion since last summer has been spinning, I simply cannot get enough of it. I am now dyeing my own fibre and creating the most delicious and squishy batts of fibre on my drum carder. I am enjoying using my handspun to make useful items of clothing.
I married my darling husband Barry in 2008, I cannot begin to tell you how happy we are together. He is so encouraging of my creativity.
We have our own photography business, set up last year and this year we are getting busier and busier which is great but it doesn’t half use up my crafting time!
