The Thinking Blogger Award

My special new friend Ann has nominated my blog for this award and it has made my day! I came across Ann on the Zimmermania blog and we have become good friends. I love her zest for life, her gutsy attitude and her beautiful happy girls, they appear to be as 'go for it' as their Mum and I love her for that and her girls' obviously admire their Mum. Thanks Ann for this nomination.

One of the things I like to do is to sit knitting with my laptop on my lap (now that's different!) whilst reading all the interesting stuff on blogs that I have subscribed to. Not sure what subscribing to is really, I think it's a bit like a posh form of a favourites list.....anyway, I'm just going to go for my favourite blogs that I just have to visit, Ann's blog would be right there at the top of the list but as she nominated me I can't have her in my list of five

I googled this award and I think I have found the original blog so I have made the above logo a link to that post on the blog....it would seem it has got pretty widespread since the 11th February 2007.
~

I nominate the following blogs for this award:-
~

1. Marianne's Knotminding
I'm not sure how I found this special person, guess it was the name that drew me to her. It's great fun chatting with a Marianne in America. Marianne talks sense. She is down to earth, she knits, she gardens, she cooks, she's fun and VERY popular! I think everyone looks forward to one of Marianne's comments on their blog, they are like a mini story every time....Marianne's posts are a jolly good read into the bargain, full of love and loads to think about. Don't know what else to say really, she's just a wonderful person and is about the same age as me so she understands my peculiarities at this changing time of my life......love her!

2. The Compulsive Worrier
I found J on a new photo site I think, a place to post photos and get comments on your work. Unfortunately, I don't post my photos on these sites so much these days, I am loving my blog too much. J writes about the ups and downs in her life, her work, her worries...I can relate to her words and I get the impression that J is a very kind and loving person and she also loves a good laugh with her friends...maybe one day we'll get together and have a laugh all of our own!
~

3. Tal's Photo a Day 2007
Natalya is amazing...her photography just takes your breath away. I love her artistic take on her world around her which is quite limited most of the time. I go to Tal's blog to check she is OK, she's had a difficult time lately but I was so glad to read that she has decided to turn around all the sadness that has been surrounding her for so long...a big step on her road to recovery in my opinion!
~

4. Freestyle Fibre
Jo spins! I want to spin and I will one of these days! I love to read about the latest yarn that Jo has cleverly made and the delicious colours and yarns she uses....I will help you with your banner Jo! I am just getting to know Jo, I love the fact that she has dyed her hair red and cut it in a choppy short spiky way, or is that someone else....?

5. KnitKnack PaddyWack Give a Blog a Home
Hmmm, why did I choose this blog? Well just read these first few lines of her bio: 'I am a kayaking, hashing, dog-walking, knitting, reading, bookcrossing midwife' Tutley Mutley is one hell of a woman, just reading about her exploits makes me feel like a lazy fat lump! Also she lives not too far from my daughter and as she's growing her third baby and her husband enjoys Kayaking so I think they'd all get on really well talking babies and kayaking, a great combination!
~

I would have tagged Ali but I know she's worn out right now and I didn't want to give her another job to do....go check out her blog
~

I visit and enjoy so many blogs, I find inspiration from all of them....I must update my blog list!
~

The words below are taken from the original blog.....

'Should you choose to participate, please make sure you pass this list of rules to the blogs you are tagging. I thought it would be appropriate to include them with the meme. The participation rules are simple:
1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,

2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,
3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn't fit your blog). That was that! Please, remember to tag blogs with real merits, i.e. relative content, and above all - blogs that really get you thinking! It is the first time I am starting something with my blog so I hope it doesn't come back to haunt me.'

I'm speechless.
Seriously....what an incredible honour you give me....SERIOUSLY... I'm a bit beside myself at the moment and will get to you very soon.
From the sounds of it, I'm hoping you're feeling much better now for which I'm very glad.
A new grandbaby...;^) congratulations to all, and what a lucky little baby to have you all for family!

Marianne - I managed to look at the post before and the post after and MISSED this! congratulations on your much deserved award and thank you so much for tagging ME! I'm going to have to sit down and THINK about this.
Thanks for the lovely things you've said about my blog and I feel hugged.
HUGS back your way (so glad you're feeling better - get the live yoghurt ready for when you finish those Antibiotics though). I'm really not that active you know!
You're talking about the one who had to slim so she could fit back into her boat: and most people have to use padding!
