Giro d'Italia Milano 2007
We arrived at our hotel about half an hour before the road was closed and we joined in the crowds to watch this exciting event. Barry cycled a few year's ago, until his knee wore out, and was totally in his element watching this round, the final stage of the Italian version of the Tour de France which just happened to finish in Milan! I was stood next to this colourful lady and she kindly let me photograph her. what a colourful shot and very colour co-ordniated lady! :o) I loved Milan...highlight for me was standing on top of the magnificent cathedral and being able to look over to the alps (i think)...just stunning!
Why did I not realize you were there for the Giro? This post freaked me out a bit - I read and reread it, thinking that I was in some alternate universe - my husband, Barry, is a huge cycling fan and bikes quite a himself. I wondered if I had written this post! Our life was ruled by the Giro recently (I can't say that I'm sorry it's over). Hope you enjoyed it up close and in person.
hi Sulu! We didn't go to Italy to see the Giro, it was just a wonderful coincidence that it was happening right outside our hotel on the day we arrived. Total chance and it was just the best feeling in the world to see Barry so unbelieving that it was to take place in front of his very eyes! I can imagine that almost a whole month of eating, breathing and sleeping this event must have worn a bit thin....I can feel your relief at it's ending!

Those photos are wonderful - like the 'fast' one of the riders whizzing round the corner. Have a great holiday, keep singing those Soggy Bottom tunes!
