Fall into Autumn TOPIC OF THE WEEK

'Now that in some geographic locations the weather is starting to turn cooler, do you change the type of yarn(s) you knit/crochet with? If so, what do you now knit/crochet with instead and why? If not, why do you not switch and what do you knit/crochet with?'

I don't think I've changed my type of yarn because of the weather, after all, it's not been a very hot summer here on the whole. If it has been hot then I've probably changed my hobby to some different needlework like sewing.....

I love to knit with soft smooth yarn...my most recent item, the Leaf Cardigan from Knitty, was made using Cascade Indulgence. I have never enjoyed a yarn so much...alpaca and angora, bliss!

I only really like to knit with cotton for dishcloths, it just doesn't 'give' enough for larger items, unless it is a blend. I find it doesn't knit too smoothly either, the stitches always look uneven in stocking stitch to me.

My mind is turning to scarfs and socks now that Autumn approaches.....

My sister in law bought some beautiful alpaca yarn in New Zealand but can't use it as she is allergic to it! Looking forward to seeing your socks and scarves!

I agree with you about cotton - I've yet to find a brand I'm happy with. The last one I tried was Rowan Denim - ouch!

We're gearing up for summer down here, which means socks, socks and SOCKS!

Hi Marianne
just catching up. What a beautiful poem your man wrote for you. Something to treasure forever.
No good asking me about knitting and yarn - I never got round to making the socks! Maybe soon?
Good luck for tomorrow I hope all goes well
Mary
