Wobbly Santa and Stuff

We have been Christmas Shopping!

Barry, Maisie and I went into Peterborough and enjoyed some really happy silly shopping. We just loved the wobbly Santa, I'll post a photo when we have sorted out the decorations...he sort of wobbles slowly, a bit like Ted Heath when he laughs and his shoulders go up and down...cute, but he's quite big!

We got Maisie a small black tinsel tree for her room. She's upstairs now decorating it with a large pink star, some baubles and some battery operated lights ~ she's happy. We had loads of cuddles today too, I love being with Maisie, she is fun and snuggly...lucky me!

I bought Barry an advent calendar, I really meant to make one, you know, knit 24 tiny stockings but I just know I'll run out of time as always so I've decided not to put myself under so much pressure and knit some of these from scraps of yarn ready for gift tags and maybe a calendar for next year. (thanks Jo!!)

Oh and I made these when I was staying with Ali and Jez the week before last...they are the Composed Mitts from Interweave Fall 2007. I used the correct yarn called for in the pattern, Blue Sky Alpacas Sport Weight, I bought the yarn bundle from Kpixie (I don't think they are doing the yarn bundle any more but to buy the yarn on it's own is still excellent value!)and have loads left for another pair and I'll still have lots left!

I just love these beautiful, soft and colourful mitts, they look good with my little black jacket with 3/4 length sleeves, well I think so!
Happy day today...hope you're all having a good time too!

I'm looking forward to seeing the wobbly snata (just thinking about Ted Heath always makes me laugh; he seemd too genuinely pleasant to be a PM!). Gorgeous mittens and do we get a pic of Maisie's tree: it sounds relaly stylish.

Awesome mitts! I've been wanting a stocking/mitten advent calendar too -- I think YOU should host a knit-along in January and then we can all be ready for next year. (Notice I said you and not me LOL!)

I love those mitts! So colourful and warm looking. The mini stockings are really cute - I thought about using scraps of sock yarn and making several for a festive garland to string across the fireplace.

well I am a bit late, but congrats to your new and sweet grandson. I see, you have done a lot of beautiful knitting recently. By the way ou deserve something handmade for your naming my dress form. Her name is Lotta- Jo because I couldn't decide which one of the two entries is best.
Please drop me a line with your address, so that the small packet will reach you. Don't know if it would be this year but I will hurry:-)

OOh, the mitts are perfection. Must be a Kristin Nicholas pattern, who else could it be? Wonderful.

Would you take a minute and send me an email with your snailmail address? I want to send you the prize you won over at my blog comment contest.

Thanks for saying hi this week, it's fun to get to know you.
