Double Trouble!

I have been wanting to knit two socks at once for a while now and so I decided to purchase this book by Antje Gillingham. The book was all the inspiration I needed to get going. I found some yarn from my stash, some very beautiful but a bit iffy in the colour department, Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk Aran. I managed to find two circulars in the right size and so I cast on and made a right pigs ear of it all and so I unpicked them both and proceeded to start again. This time, I made myself stop watching the film and asked Barry if he could just stop chatting to me whilst I concentrated on following the pattern to the letter. He made a face at me and tried to keep quiet, not an easy task for a chat bag I can tell you! Anyway, this time I understood what the written word was trying to tell me and now I am comfortable with this way of knitting so far, but I haven't done a heel yet!
The tightly knitted fabric feels gorgeous, so soft and plump, a lot like me!
I have also made a bit of progress on the Rivendell Sock
Chart two finishes abruptly and then starts again in the pattern, leaving an odd gap, I have added a bit to the chart so my ribbing continues smoothly, it pleases me to do this. At first I thought it was a pattern error but the designer says it is meant to be like that...

I have made another Hex bag, I love this material, so fifties and funny! The writing on it is hilarious. The fabric is called 'Love and Marriage' by Michael Miller

I am doing bits of sewing and knitting in between editing photos.

The wedding we photographed a couple of weeks ago was beautiful, the weather was mostly kind to us and the couple were great fun. We covered everything from the bride and groom getting ready to fireworks at the end of the evening, to say we were exhausted at the end of it was an understatement! Over 9 hours of photography, we have got rather a lot of photos to sort through as you can imagine!

The socks look nice and cosy, once you have done the socks once it will seem easy I am sure. good luck with the photo sorting, it will take you years as they are all lovely!

It looks to be a lovely colour.. and you can see just how soft that yarn is!
Look at you go with the Hex bags, that one looks very summery.
9 hours of photos to go through, that'll take you a bit of time ;^D

Love your new bag.

When I did 2 socks at once I had to do the heels one at a time, because you are only working back and forth on the heel stitches, don't think there's a way to do the heels together,(unless somebody enlightens me) but once they were done you could carry on as normal!

I just love that Rivendell pattern. It looks like you're getting the hang of the 2 sock thing.

The double-trouble socks I made were a toe-up variety. I had to start and rip the toes three times before it made sense. One of these days I'll tackle another pair.

Nine hours of taking pictures at a wedding seems totally exhausting, and now with all the editing to do it's surprising you have any knitting or sewing time.

Love the colour of your socks and that bag is great! I have a new sewing machine that I have not even pluged in yet! Need to line those bags! Need to clean off the table first. Really need to clean the other table and switch them out from two rooms, if only I could bottle up engery to save it for this weekend.
