It's SO exhausting being fabulous...

Well that's what it says on the front of the thank you card that Denise sent us after the lovely weekend we all had.  I'm feeling rather humbled after reading her words I must admit.  I can't believe that we made such an impact on them all, still it was great spoiling them all, but yes, it was exhausting too! ha ha!

I am still feeling so buzzy about the way the  Sucky Thumb Mitts have been received by you all.  I knew they were cute, well you can see that in the photos of little Imogen.  Thank you for all the positive comments! I can't wait to see the photos of the ones you have made.  You must let me know when you have made some!

Here's the curtain I made for the landing window.
I love the way it looks. It is so thick and heavy and really keeps out the draughts emanating from that window! One down only about 20 to go!
This is some very lovely yarn I spun from some Halo Roving from the Natural Dye Studio
I can't wait to knit this up!
This is a really pretty gift I received from my friend Heather who came round for lunch on Tuesday.  She brought her spinning wheel with her and we sat and spun and chatted and ate and laughed and then she went home! Can't wait for our next yarny experience! The fibre is from Jo at Lime Green Jelly, she such a clever dyer, her colours are always beautiful! Lucky me!
This is some camel/alpaca/silk fibre that I dyed myself and have spun into this shiny yarn.  Not sure what I'll make from it but it is nice to squidge every once in a while!

These mitts are The Marquise Gauntlets from Elann.  A free pattern and it is a good one. However, I ran out of my hand spun yarn as I neared the pointy bit of the second mitt. I even knit faster and faster hoping it might make the yarn go further but it still ran out....does anyone else do that? I asked Megan if she had any more so I could spin it up. Unfortunately she hadn't any left but maybe she would dye me some up....There was no way I wanted to unpick these fiddly mitts and make the cuffs a bit shorter.

I needn't have worried though, I found a tiny ball of slightly thinner yarn in my basket this morning.  I had pulled it off the main skein and forgotten about it, but it will be perfect for finishing them off.  Brilliant!
The fibre is some delicious blue faced Leicester and alpaca which was in a delightful fluffy cloud of a batt ready for spinning.  The colour is Berry Smoothie.

I wonder who they'll be for......?!?!

Hi Marianne,
just popped in to see what you've been up to. Very busy as usual. I love the colors in your yarns. Very happy colors.

You did a great job with the curtains. Want to come sew for me?

hope you have a great day. Tell Barry hello from Virginia!

Well you have been busy, what unusual gauntlets! I thought that photo of fibre was one of mine before I even read it was, know you will make some pretty yarn with that for sure!

Ok, what I want to know is if you ever sleep??? How do you pack all this knitting in at this time of year. The curtain is beautiful and these little peeks of your house are just lovely!
