I am feeling a bit proud of myself today....
I finished this lovely cardigan yesterday but it was looking very big so.....
I bravely did something...can't quite believe I did it mind you....I put it in the tumble dryer!
Two 10 minute bursts on low and it came out, still a bit damp but a much better fabric.
I love it and I can't wait to wear it! It is soo soft and silky...I used some Rowan All Seasons cotton for the tie but apart from that the yarn is all my own work. I even dyed the fibre! This afternoon, my eldest son is taking me on a tour of his new home via a video link on Skype...I can't wait to see it.
My bones have been aching for months, this flipping menopause is getting me down now, let's hope it sorts itself out soon, if you know what I mean!!

Oh wow - I didn't realize it's an adult size jacket until you mentioned it. I though it's an adorable Baby cardigan! I'm very impressed. It looks great - and I can't believe you put it in the dryer! So brave! :o)

In answer to your question, I leave the yarn in the slow cooker for up to 2 hours, checking it by dipping kitchen towel in the water. After that, if it hasn't fully exhausted, I haul the yarn out, gently squeeze it out into the crock, add some more citric acid and push it all back under the water.
Great fun, and never the same effect twice ;)
