Twittering and Knittering..

What a lovely weekend, spent the whole time feeling luvved up and calm.....feeling calm is a rare experience for me, like a weight is slowly lifting from me (wish it was real weight too lol).  Am I emerging from that life changing horror that has been enveloping my body for a few years now?...let's hope so, it's not until you start to feel better that you realise how unwell it has been making you feel.  My joints still ache, and ache...but hopefully that will improve soon too.

I took part in a spinner's swap and boy was I spoiled! My lovely pal 'H' really seemed to know how to please my spinny needs.
For the swap, we had to take 100g of fibre and spin 50g of it so the recipient can spin the other 50g.  We also were told to only send a small non fibre related gift and another 100g of fibre.   I love the bouncy 3 ply yarn H spun and I am looking forward to spinning it up, hope I can match hers.  The other fibre she sent me is so gorgeous, merino and silk, dyed in the most gorgeous shades, I love it!  H and I rebelled and privately did our own thing.  I hope she likes her parcel from me, I must post it!
Her OH made me that funny sock giraffe, I was just smiling all the way through opening my presents.  Thanks Neek! The Kerastix gauge checker is brilliant and I love the M1 stitch marker that came with it. I have a friend that calls me 'M1' so it has a double meaning for me.   I had a diz, handmade for me! I will have to look up how to use it on Youtube. I had my eye on one of those for a while....and the shawl pin is so lovely, something I have wanted for ages. There was a candle, a notebook and pen, some gorgeously smelly Lush thingy's which were packed in popcorn which scattered all over the dining room carpet as I opened the package..! lol I will have to think of someway to get my own back there...oh and I have everything ready for H's parcel including something little that I made whilst watching the rugby on Valentine's day.  The things we do for love eh? Were you spoiled? I was....totally, but then I always am, every day.... ;^) Oh I really want to show you what I made, it will have to wait!

This is some handspun, hand dyed merino/silk ready to be made into a Louisa jumper(sorry about the rav link only I can't find another link to it online anywhere). The book is here, I love almost every pattern in the book, now that is unusual!  I have the two sleeves on holders and now need to spin the rest of the yarn but really I think I should do some work first eh?

What goodies you received - so lucky! The giraffe is very sweet but I don't know what some of your little pressies were - I think they must be spinning or yarn related - very technical!

That yarn has the most delicious colours in it. I'm having a little sigh...

Hi! I found your sucky thumb pattern on ravelry and made both mittens last evening. I used some leftover bulky yarn from a hat I had made for my 19 month old grandson. There was just enough left for the mitts and they are FABULOUS!! He refuses to wear mittens or (god save us) gloves but loves these fingerless mitts. Thank you, thank you. I foresee the end of his little chapped hands. And winters here in New Hampshire are cold. :)
