I'm Back!

Not your usual blocking photo? I dreamed up this way of blocking as we were driving around Tuscany. It has worked out really well, the pretty stitches are all open and the points are pointy! After soaking in a Eucalan bath, I squeezed out the excess water and folded my Ishbel in half. I secured all the points with these pretty clothes pegs from Lakeland...such a lovely shop!
Anyway, I am back now, we spent two nights in Venice and the 7 nights in Tuscany in the most beautiful Villa in the mountains. Pelago...so serene, the views and sunsets were amazing.
Mum was in awe of the whole experience, so happy that we were able to take her on this special holiday. We know where most of the loos are in Tuscany now, hehe ;^)
I found this Ishbel to be the perfect holiday knitting project and finished her yesterday as we made our way to Pisa...Mum's face was a picture as we walked up the road and the leaning tower came into view. I had that feeling last year, you can't quite believe what you are looking at. Mum kept asking if it was a film set or something.

Amazing holiday, loads of photos to sort through but I will leave you with the first one I took in St Mark's Square....

Wonderful that you are back, Marianne. I've been waiting for your posts. Can't wait to see all the great photos you and Barry took. I know you must have had a blast. I just love that shawl. I wish I was so talented to be able to knit that good. I should get you to make me one. I'm dense when it comes to patterns. Simple is what I do best.

fyi, the chocolate is just yummy and the fudge tastes like caramels. So all is well here in Virginia. working like a dog in the yard trying to clean up after 7 days of rain.

Hope to hear more soon.

Tuscany - one of my favourite places in the world. You lucky thing! Could you email me with a price on one of those scarves Marianne? They're beautiful. I may have asked you this before - do you take commissions? Emma x

Your new blocking, what fun! Especially love the photo of Beautiful Ishbel in the window, beyond lovely.
Happy Mum's Day to you, your mum, and your daughter :^) (I know you celebrated 'Mothering Day' a while back but hey, every celebration of Mother's Day, eh?
