Pam's Cardi

I ordered these labels a few days ago and am very pleased with them, although not all of the garments will be 'hand wash only', it doesn't hurt to have that on the labels as a precaution for those heavy handed washer people out there that bung everything in the machine and hope for the best!! The last lot of labels I ordered was way back when in my previous life, had a cone of wool as the symbol on them, I wanted these labels to be more useful as I do sewing as well and a cone of wool is limited to knitting. I have about 3 of them left so I reckon I must have made about 141 garments at least over the years....

Pam's Cardi
is finished!! The pure wool yarn had a tendency to break if I knitted it too fast on my knitting machine so this took me quite a lot longer than it should have done to complete GGggrrrrrr!! Also this yarn has a tendency to twist a bit so it needed to be told who's boss during the blocking out stage, at least its pure wool so it can take a lot of pressing and steaming to encourage it in the right direction. This is just a big snuggly wrap of a jacket really, can be dressed up and down as the owner wishes. As I make these garments, I have decided to call them by the name of the person that they were made for, so this is called Pam. My intention is to actually produce the patterns for them, there are not many 'funky' machine knitting patterns out there and it is fun creating my own :^) The other thing that slowed me down was the fact that I started this about a week ago and an awful lot has happened since I knitted the first half, even the back is done in two halves because I wanted to get some shaping in it, sooo.....
I set to work knitting the other side only to discover that I had knitted the same side twice!! So I have a half done jacket in my work pile! I wonder who'll be the recipient??

I think it is beautiful. It looks very classic and elegant.

Maybe Grandma will be getting one for her birthday?
