Mother's Day

Yesterday I felt odd, still do really.... I think it might be because of all the changes that have happened in my life over the last two and a half years. My GP once told me that for every action there has to be a reaction and you never quite know when the reaction is going to happen. I guess I'm having one of those reactions....
Maisie was with us for the weekend which was so lovely, she's such a precious girl and growing up so fast. She brought with her a beautiful bouquet of flowers that she had hand chosen from a florist, a card and a delicious slab of chocolate from Thornton's with a Happy Mother's Day greeting written on it in icing, yum....
Edward, my eldest son gave me a gorgeous see-through carrier bag containing a vase of flowers, so prettily arranged, and a card. Thanks Ed and Michelle! (Michelle is Edwards Fiance)
On Saturday, a card plopped through the letterbox from Ali, it's so pretty, Ali had crocheted a flower with leaves and put it on the front of the card, but I can remove it and sew it onto a jacket or something....we are going to stay with Ali this weekend, I am really looking forward to that!
I told Barry that Laurie used to make me a card, always special and always made my day but I hadn't heard from him and thought it strange because he is living with my Mum and I just knew she must have said something to him....anyway, we got back from dropping Maisie off at about 7pm and I had a message from Laurie telling me to go and check my email....and I found this....This is a photo of me with Laurie taken about 21 years ago and Laurie has made this beautiful artwork with it. Mum took the photo, we were living in Jersey in the Channel Islands at the time. Laurie is digging in the sand, something all of my children love to do whatever the weather or season.....(don't they all?) I am going to print this out and frame it. My clever arty boy, he also wrote this:-

I’ve made ye a picture, tis attached. Tis A4 size if ye wanted to print it.

Laurie :D"

Laurie doesn't usually say too much so these words mean such a lot to me.....

apparently, Laurie had been trying to contact Barry to get him to print it out for me but Barry's phone had gone flat and was also left in the car, oh well, getting this by email was just as special!

What amazing children I have! Lucky me.....

I feel better for writing this, thanks for listening, time to go and get ready to face the day...more photos of flowers to follow....or shall I start the Swallowtail Shawl or shall I get on with what's already on the needles??
