The Blue Lamp

When Barry and I moved in together 2 years ago, we went to Ikea and bought a few bits and bobs. One of those such items was this lamp. About 6 months ago the lamp started flickering and eventually died. I was very sad about this as I loved the blue light. I did ask Laurie to have a look at it when he stayed with us last year but the time just went by......Barry was going to fix it but then we went to Ikea on Saturday and bought a new one. As Barry opened the box of the new one he said 'Did you know this lamp had an on off switch? look!' Well we both got our brains into gear and rather thought that maybe the one on the shelf, gathering dust and not working might have a switch just like it. It did!! On one of my rare dusting sessions I think I must have pushed the shelf back a bit onto the switch which sort of switched it off.....slowly....

Barry switched it back on!

Laurie has made a claim on the new one...

You got to laugh!!

LOL! So glad you got it working! That dust can do the strangest of things! ;o)

I did laugh! Something similar happened to me. Our microwave sits in a small gap in an alcove on top of the fridge. A few years ago it started to work intermittantly. I was quite pleased as it was old and I wanted a new one. Unfortunately Phil investigated and found out the plug (which you can't see very well) had simply worked it's way almost out of the socket. He pushed it in and...no new microwave for me :(

Lol, just creasing up but I had a similar problem years ago with my sewing machine, as the light had gone out, so I thought it wasn't working, a repair guy came out to take a look at it for me, and changed the light bulb, doh!

Haha - that sounds just like our family :)

Easter Bonnet parade day at school today, she's made a huge daisy hat with chicks and bunnies in the middle.
