Green Sherbet

I am feeling rather pleased with myself...
I have made a dress that actually fits me and in my opinion it looks OK too! I was telling a friend that for years I would cut out the pattern size that I wanted to be rather than the size I actually am. My size is a very big one on the pattern and I didn't think I was THAT big!! Maybe I've got big boobs?..sssshhhh. I know the zip doesn't match too well but have you tried to find a lime green zip ever?? Now I am eager to make another but there are so many jobs around this place that are beckoning me. Perhaps I'll make a list of jobs to be done, well it'd be a start wouldn't it? Then I'd need a decaf coff as B and I call it...

I am so eager to get on with my new life with Barry, and we have so much old stuff just hanging around this place. We have both brought loads of things into this little house. There isn't room for any lingering of not-needed possessions, so we are going to try and get up early one morning and do a boot sale. After that the charity shops can benefit....but I might just have to go and see if I need any vintage fabrics too, which might counteract the task of streamlining our stuff!

Do you see the bag I made too? It's another version of the sherbet bag and I love it. I used a remnant of some Sanderson curtain fabric and carefully cut out round the flower motif for the two front panels. I think I am brave enough to use this one! I sent the other one to Ali yesterday, she should get it any minute! I also sent some felted baby shoes and some greetings cards for Ali to sell at a craft fayre on Saturday. I wonder if I'll sell anything?? Ali is looking forward to just sitting and knitting so she'll be happy whether she sells anything or not. Jez will be looking after the girls so I can understand the peace and freedom that Ali will get...
Have a good weekend...

I cannot wait to see the dress on you! And I know what you mean about sizes...I just tell myself that I need the bigger size because I like things loose.

I'll get Barry to take a photo of me in it andif I don't look like Kermit I'll post it! Remember I said that Barry said it would look even nicer when it is washed and nice and soft...I gave him a look...and he asked me if I wanted some desert? Well, it's on the line and has gone deliciously soft!

He he he, how funny, desert? Oh yes!
I'm looking forward to seeing it on you also, and the bag is such a beauty!
Yes, photos with you in the dress holding the bag, please Barry?
(have lots of deserts on hand!) ;^)

Gotta love that Barry!

Your sewing is beautiful and I have no doubt you'll look smashin' (does anyone still use that word - it's how dad describes mum when she's all dressed up... cute eh?)

Enjoy your desert. x

Everyone else is saying what I was gonna say--"What, no photo of you in your new dress???" lol I like this bag too, it's very soothing and pretty.

Wow the bag looks great! I love the way you fussy-cut the flowerers for the panels. The dress is a gorgeous colour too! I just love lime green!

thanks Rosie, I only learnt that this was fussy cutting the other day and said to Barry, I have 'fussy cut' these flowers out of the curtain fabric and he just looked at me and smiled! I just wanted to say it really lol

Oh don't tease - come on show us the dress. If the bag is anything to go by - it will be fab. I used to make my own clothes but stopped for the very reason you did. Now come on I need motivation - who knows you might get us all sewing our own clothes again. Mary

Finally catching up with a few blog friends. It's wonderful to see you sewing up a storm. Pictures, Pictures, Pictures. Hear the chant swelling as we all want to see you in the dress with your bag?

How was the Fayre sale? And are you having success tackling and sorting through the must go stuff?
