A tutorial and a giveaway!

UPDATE:
Hope this post hasn't offended anyone, it was posted tongue in cheek you know! I would love to hear from anyone, whether they have put the link to their email in or not! Come on, I really like to get your comments, I just wanted to say thank you if I could. I have started making the prize already so you might as well leave a comment just so you get into the draw eh? Sometimes, the way we write things in internet land, get misinterpreted, I love you all, but you knew that didn't you?? Anyone that leaves a comment will get entered into the draw!
I want to reply to my comments by email......so, I have made a tutorial for you to follow
How rude you say? not at all I say!
I hate it when I can't reply to your lovely comments because you haven't set your blog to 'show your email'
all I ask is that you follow the directions of the red arrows....
and leave a comment to this post and if I can reply to you by email then you will be put into a draw to win a prize!
If you have a good reason to not have your email in your comments then simply let me know and if I think it is good enough reason then I will still enter you in the competition....how very controlling of me! (you could always email me by using the link in the sidebar, after commenting on here first!)
I have wanted to do a giveaway for ages and have not been able to for various reasons.
My life has taken a turn for the better lately and I can now offer a prize, something handmade by me!
Leave a comment on this post by Monday 24th at Noon GMT and if I can reply to you by email then you will be entered into the comp...easy peasy!!
It's only fair anyway, if I am going to do some work for you then a little bit of work from you is ok, isn't it? It only takes a minute girl (or boy).....I like that song!
I know some of you already let me reply to your comments by email, I want to hear from you to!!
*~*~*
I had my stitches out today......ouch! Getting more and more movement in my shoulder as each day passes, had two good nights sleep and I feel so much better as long as I take the painkillers!
I look forward to hearing from you!
All of you...especially those lurkers!
xx

Not rude at all - GREAT idea. I've been asked before to make my email address "live" on my blog and didn't know how to do it.

ps: please let me know if I've done it correctly : )

I don't think I'll 'count' as I already have mine there... ?^)

So glad you're feeling better and the sutures are OUT!

You are just asking for what I think many others would like. I have met some great people in the knitting blog and it does make it easier to have an email to reply when being directed to your profile page. Thank you and glad to hear your feeling better.

I so agree with you! I try to reply to all comments on my blog, but when there is no email address....well I feel rude. Thanks for this tutorial. I hope many follow it!

Darling, I don't have a Blogger profile because I've set it up to go straight to my site - but you'll find a link to my email in my sidebar [I think you already have my email, don't you?].

I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better. x

I'm not really a lurker since I've commented here before, but wanted to say right on to this post. I always wish I could reply back to comment-leavers. But now I'm wondering if I've left my e-mail. I''m off to try your tutorial!
P.S. Can't wait to see the ring!

Done! And thanks - I had my e-mail address misspelled in my profile - I'm so glad your post prompted me to check it.

So glad to hear you're on the mend! AND of course it's not pushy to ask for email. Luckily, Typepad asks for it for my blog...I get so annoyed when folks don't fill it in too. Usually they are friends though so I have their address stashed away.

You're so funny! I think you have my e-mail? Glad you're doing better!

But I don't have a blog, Marie... ;-)

Good to hear you're feeling better!

well, it's nice to know you are getting along so well. I was beginning to wonder about the physical therapy, if they had done you in.

hope I'm not an offender with the email.

I believe that I have always made my email part of my comment. How silly i will feel if that is not so! :) well at least my blog is linkable from my comment and my email is on my blog - doesnt that count?? you have emailed me in the past so it must work - do you want a clickable email link?

It is very good to be "confident about your preferences" then everyone knows where they stand and what to do! :)

stitches out is always the worst thing, the only way now is up!

Thank you very much for your nice comments on my blog.A giveaway of something handmade is gorgeous anyway. To make lurkers come out their shadows there is much work to do:-) especially here people are very shy! That's why I have my sitemeter. Without it I thought I would "blabla" all the time for myself:-D

My e-mail address is in my profile, but when I tried to get it on the blog - like yours ('you can always e-mail me') it wouldn't work and just kept showing the whole address. I don't understand Blogger!

Why can't everything in life be as simple as Cadbury's Dairy Milk?!

Rosie said...

I can only get mine into my profile and no further. But I'd not even realised that there might be email addresses in people's profiles.

Marianne, are you using the original verison of blogger, or the beta format (which is what I've got)?

glad to hear you're feeling better, and have your tongue planted firmly in cheek

No offence taken here! I don't have a profile because I am just the anonymous email address of your FintoA dishcloth pal - but in my everyday blogging identity I don't have my email linked because I'm afraid of spam. Is everyone who has their email linked happy that they haven't seen any increase in spam?

My secret random dishcloth pal email is dishcloth@knaxs.com - drop me a note if you like! If you've sent me an email and I haven't replied, let me know and I'll have my sysadmin - i.e. hubby - check things out. This random anonymous email thing is difficult!

So glad you're feeling better! I've really enjoyed looking at all your beautiful pictures and reading your blog. Happy Fall!! And congrats on THE RING!!

Not rude at all. I hope every noreplyers see this and act. I will link to your tutorial in my blog. glad to hear your arm is doing better. I'm so happy mine is starting to act more and more normal. But we both have to take care and be careful. Not overdo anything.

Surely that lovely Dicentra, Bleeding Heart, isn't blooming in your garden right now is it? It is one of my favorite plants but in the eastern US it blooms in early spring. I have a couple of clumps that I adore.
