Yarn Forward Magazine and Cashmere Socks

I have finished one of the tiny cable socks using Hip Knits Cashmere Sock yarn
the sock weighs 27 grammes
and the remaining yarn weighs 35 grammes ... so I have plenty for the second sock, in fact I wish I had done another 4 rounds to include one more cable round but I was panicking a bit about running out of yarn. The beauty of knitting toe-up is that you can judge your yarn requirements simply by weighing the yarn to start with and then working out 50% for each sock. Thank goodness for digital scales!

I love doing this magic cast on too:-

Well, about 11 days ago, I went on a photo shoot. I had my darling assistant with me and together we had the best fun ever! It was muddy under foot but the sun shone...lucky us!
How I wish I could show you photos from the garments that will appear in the next magazine.....
but for now, all I can show you are these, and this wonderful shot of Kerrie and Lou as they did an hysterical balancing act. Lou was trying to get into position, under my instruction for a shot of some...oops I nearly told you, but as you can see, laughter was present, all day long!
Here we have the lovely model, Jo, she was a joy to photograph, my first experience of a photo shoot using a real model, I loved every minute and hope the photos reflect this. This shot is of Jo relaxing between shots as Barry set up the lighting for the indoor shots. The week before, Jo had been on the television taking part in 'Project Catwalk', unfortunately, her designer got knocked out of the competition.

You can follow the progress of the magazine on the Yarn Forward Blog

Those little socks are adorable! What's the pattern? My toddler granddaughter would Luv them.

Lovely photos. The muddy shoes shot brings up memories of feet weighted by mud.

I meant to comment on your "where I'm from" post a few days ago but Blogger and wordpress were fighting. Beautiful glimpse into your life from a unique angle.

Absolutely goooorgeous cashmere socks. Can't wait to knit myself some now after seeing yours. I think cashmere socks are the absolute in the "treating myself" category.

Cheers

Your tiny cable sock is adorable. The edging is very different. Good thinking doing the weighing...I've had a few of those hold your breath moments, too :)

A finished cashmere sock. Yum. I'd walk around with one foot covered while the other waited in jealously.

somehow I don't think there are going to be any complaints about the photos in this issue of Yarn Forward!

and the socks look so pretty and comfy and ... well, I'm just wondering, is there any way that you (I mean I!) can steal things just by clicking your mouse over the photo...
