Alice, you have messed my room up!

I was doing very well this morning, everywhere was tidy and I was just getting ready to sew when the doorbell rang. The postman handed me a parcel and said, 'just the one today'....whatever did he mean? Rude man...Anyway, I could handle waiting to open this package....couldn't I?

Well I did leave it on the ironing board for a while as I pottered about a bit, but it kept calling to me....ok ok....I'll be there in a minute....ssshhhhh
Look at the gorgeous spring colour bursting out of the box, like a daffodil
Inside were some delicious goodies, I am so spoilt, truly spoilt, with all the wonderful favourite things inside this box
some Artesano Alpaca, in a gorgeous shade of mossy green, the colour isn't true in the photo here, I think the background made my camera a bit confused as to which green it was looking at!
Freshly made cream & butter fudge...just what you need when you are trying to squeeze into a dress for a VERY special occasion (sorry trying my hardest not to mention the W word)
some darning needles in a little holder, I've had my eye on these for a while, think I mentioned them in my last swap questionnaire, Alice has been doing her homework...
Look Look Look!!!! Manos Silk Blend!! I am so spoiled, I love the colour and the feel of this yarn, Alice you are an angel, I was all alone in the house but I heard someone making happy noises and realised it was me!
but....when I opened this package I squealed, really, out loud! I did look round after just in case I wasn't alone ha-ha..This yarn is over and above the UK Swap requirements but Alice got round it by telling me it is a wedding present! (oops sorry to mention that word again) 100% spun silk with glass beads in a most delicious soft green. This will become something so special just for me, wow, maybe I should have just have had a wedding present list with yarn on it, I know that one of us would have loved that.
I took the loot outside for a more natural photograph, the sunshine bleached it a little, but you can see the colours better. I have eaten two pieces of fudge as I have been composing this post. YUMMY! I am truly overwhelmed and wish I could go and hug my darling swap pal in person! Now what shall I make from all this goodness??? I think Ravelry will be my friend here....

THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!

Here I am wearing my newly finished Elspeth Cardigan. It has worked out a treat, a lovely shape and the size is perfect on me. (this is for my h_n_ym__n sshhhh) The pattern said 5 balls of Calmer, but I only used 3 and half balls. The tension was spot on so they must have got their calculations wrong. If I had known, I would have made it a pattern repeat longer but then, there's always next time!

The sun is shining, the snow has gone and I am now sitting in amongst my new yarn with complete mess everywhere...in my haste to take these photos, I just pushed stuff out of the way, some of which fell onto the floor..I suppose I had better go and put the room straight again, and I REALLY MUST do some more sewing! Happy days!
