I love doing Crab Stitch! I have found a left handed video of it in action for you watch, clicky
I am amazed that I actually found a left handed version, I am left handed you see and I crochet left handed. Don't us lefties look awkward? haha! Basically, crab stitch is a row of double (single if you're not from the UK) crochet worked backwards and it gives a lovely finished edge to your work.I chose a lovely lime green silk to finish my corset tank and it looks gorgeous.
I love the difference the crab stitch makes to the edge
All I need now is about 20 special buttons and then I can wear this beauty, the drape and feel of the garment is gorgeous, hope it fits me because at this stage it looks VERY long and narrow!

On the way back from our meal at The Old Portelet Inn near St Brelades, we noticed this amazing sand castle. The detail is so perfect. The chap watching over it was great, a young man although he looked older because of his large beard, he was a hippy, he told me but I said I could tell. This surprised him and he said that he thought that maybe I was a hippy too because of the flowers on my dress. I used to hanker after being a hippy in the 70's so I was quite amused by this.
Mr Hippy asked us if we'd photograph his effort in sand sculpture, I think he is doing just fine, this doorway looks amazing! We gave him a card, hpefully he'll get in touch so we can send him the photos.
We gave him some money as he kept saying that 'people think I am begging, but I'm not'...he then proceeded to say he was a magician and he would show us a trick. He asked us to hold out our hands and he put the coins back in our palms, then he laughed and said he didn't want the money. He did confuse us so Barry gave him one coin back and he said thanks, that will go towards his fish and chips later....
I do love Jersey, I don't think it will be too long before we go back!
I'll leave you with a little video of me showing you a panorama of Corbiere Lighthouse
We're photographing a wedding today, I worry more about getting to where I am supposed to be than actually taking the photos, I think that's progress!

Wow! Those sandcastles are amazing!! I've got such an urge to go down to the beach now
That sand castle looks near unbelievable. He must've spent ALOT of time perfecting it. I am amazed!!
I love the green edge, and it also reminds me of those flowery socks you made ages ago ;-)
I LOVE the crab stitch edge!! Never have tried it before, but I certainly will keep it in mind for the future. Very nice :)
What an amazing sand castle :)
Wow what skill making those sand sculptures!! And what a lovely interesting sounding man you met :)
And gorgeous crochet top!!!!!
Can't wait to see the Tank, and that sand castle is fabulous, one of my friend's dad always said I reminded him of a hippy, without the hair, just the attitude!
The crochet looks such lovely colours and isn't that castle amazing! I have missed lots of your posts as bloglines just hasn't told me you posted, stupid bloglines.
He sounds a character! Hope the wedding went well.
The corsett looks lovely already, and I haven't seen a lot of it. I think the crab stitch is fabulous for this, and the grenn color too. Wonderful sand sculptres. It's funny that one says of himself, that he's a hippy. Around here it's more like a curse word. :o)
definitely amazing castle!
Crab stitch? Never heard of it but it's beautiful. I'm so blown away by all the talent out there.
That sandcastle is amazing - hardly looks real!
