I picked Barry up from work this lunchtime and we made our way to the Jersey Potteries for lunch. I really had my heart set on some crab sandwiches but they weren't on the menu. Crab salad it was then. The waiter came out and told me, 'We only have spider crab today, is that ok?' 'Oh yes,' says I, not really knowing what to expect, feeling somewhat disappointed at the thought of all those skinny legs! Well, I was sort of shell shocked when it was presented to me, it was enormous Even some people sat next to us were amazed at the size of the thing. I didn't know if I was going to like this big thing but I made a start at it, picking and poking until I got a nice pile of crab meat to taste. I have to tell you that it was the sweetest, most juicy crab I have ever tasted. Well worth all the sticky fingers. I still stink of crab now, think I need a shower, it was a very messy thing to eat you know....

After lunch, I took Barry back to work and made my way back to the pottery for a slow browse around. Nothing really took my fancy so I made my way to Le Hocq where I sat on a bench and did a bit of knitting and took some photos. Very relaxing!~*~
Meet my Jersey Girls! Not sure what I was doing with my arm around Dympna in this shot...I was showing them some photos from our wedding. Our boys used to play together and now they are all grown up!
The last time we met up was in 1987. I can't believe all those years have gone by.We had a very fun evening. Dympna cooked a delicious meal for us and we all drank Pimms and then fizzy wine, we did a lot of laughing! I didn't realise how much I had missed these girls. I lost touch with them when I left Jersey 21 years ago. Thank goodness for the internet, because I found D's number on-line and made contact. I won't lose contact again, I have all their names and addresses safely ensconsed in my laptop. If you have friends from the past that you often think about but never see, then why not see if you can find their phone numbers online? I can highly recommend you do so...Home tomorrow, not sure I want to leave this sunny happy island!

Looks as if you've been having an amazing time and the spider crab looks yumptious. By complete coincidence I was eating crab yesterday, too. Lunched on crab mornay in a pub in Sheringham and ate crab sarnies (from a tiny cafe in Cromer) on the way home.
Oh dear; don't fancy that crab. Looks a bit too much like a giant spider.
