Meeting Rosie

Today we went into Cambridge with the intention of going to find my colourswap pal Rosie because she works in a gorgeous shop there. We found the shop really easily and I walked in looking for someone that might be Rosie. Then I heard Barry say, 'are you Rosie?' and he'd found her. It was so lovely to meet Rosie, I'm sure we'll met up again, even if it is at one of the ktog sessions that seem to coincide with my migraines or some other activity I am having to do. We couldn't talk for too long as Rosie was working but we exchanged phone numbers. It was such a stroke of luck being paired with someone that lives not too far away, I have only lived in Cambridgeshire for a couple of years and don't really know that many people. Rosie also pointed us in the right direction to get some more of the yummy 'Summer Breeze' tea that she put in my parcel. I had been saving my last teaspoon of the tea for a special occasion, like when I needed a cuddle on the inside but now I have a whole new potful and some 'Organic Snowflower Earl Grey' which has some Jasmine flowers in it. It looks so pretty, just sniffing it lifts your spirits. I also got a bit of 'Strawberries & Cream' tea, there was only a bit left in the tin so the assistant let me have it half price so I have three special flavours now to have when the mood requests it!
Inspired by the visit to Cambridge today, I really felt the need to wind my gorgeously soft and sqidgy cashmere yarn, into a ball, as you can see, Barry was watching the Rugby as I wound. I think we could fall out over a skein winding session if it happens too often...I think I need to invest in a 'Swift!'
I love that photo of his hand, I gave him the ball to hold so I could go and get my camera and still he stared at the television! He's a good boy though, and I do find it hard to fault him most of the time, so I shouldn't complain when we hit a snaggy bit and it and he doesn't move his hands in time to my winding....it's now been turned into a nice fat cake of yarn ready to be knitted into a Swallowtail Shawl. Thanks for the inspiration Marianne!

Did you get my email about possibly using a bit heavier yarn and using larger needles? I really couldn't tell what weight that yarn might be, it's absolutely lovely though. Also, there's some folks knitting with lace weight and using 4.0mm and 4.5 mm sized needles...(US6 and 7).
You'll have fun with this one!

Yay that you got to meet Rosie, and that she lives in your area! I think that's fabulous!
XOXOXOX

yes, thanks M, I got the mail, this cashmere is a fine 4ply weight, a bit heavier than the cream yarn I used for the flowerbasket shawl so I will use a size bigger needles this time. I only want it to be a shawl that covers my shoulders. It's a windy sunny day here today...and it's Mother's day so I'm not allowed to do anything!

Keep the peace, get a swift! I finally broke down and bought a nice wood one last fall which come apart and stores in a slim bag. It's so much better to use than hubby's hands! :-)

(trying to post this for the third time!)
